Randal Nardone is best known for his work and contribution to the company Fortress Investment Group, which he co-founded alongside Rob Kauffman and Wesley Edens. Randal Nardone and his partners started up the company together back in 1998 because they were not capable of doing it alone, due to the amount of work that was needed and the funds to get it started. Together, the three businessmen launched Fortress Investment Group as a private investment firm. Randal Nardone didn’t join the board of directors until sometime in 2006, but by that time he had already made a fortune with the growth of Fortress Investment Group.
Randal Nardone and the other founders of the company didn’t decide to make the company public until 2007 after Peter Briger had made the move to switch up the company’s market. Once Fortress became a public company, they started soaring to the top of the investment industry as a leading competitor on the market for alternative investments. Fortress Investment offers specialized investments for their clients, but most importantly they manage assets for upwards of 1800 institutes and investors today. Randal served as CEO for two years from 2011 to 2013 but has since stayed on as a board chairman for the company, offering his expertise and management skills.
Randal Nardone’s position at the company has made him a billionaire and a self-made one at that as a founder of the company. By 2006, Randal was named one of the top billionaires in the world with more than 1.8 billion dollars attached to his name. Surprisingly for Randal Nardone, he did not actually get any degrees in finance or economics before started out his company, rather he focused on Biology and English during his tour at University. Randal even obtained his Juris Doctor from the Boston School of Law.
